1. Sriwijaya University – Palembang
The first place of the largest campus in Indonesia goes to Sriwijaya University in Palembang, South Sumatra. With an area of 721 hectares, making Sriwijaya University the largest university in Indonesia. Sriwijaya University or commonly called UNSRI has two different campus locations. The first campus is located in Bukit Besar, Palembang City and the other campus is in Indralaya, Ogan Ilir Regency.
As the largest campus in Indonesia, UNSRI has a total of 10 faculties within it. Some of them are the faculties of economics, computer science, teacher training and education, public health, agriculture, social science and political science, science, engineering, law and medicine.
There are many facilities on UNSRI’s vast campus. The student centre building is the first facility available. This 5-storey building is used for various purposes, such as seminars, student activities, art performances, UKM, and others. The next facility is the central library which is divided into two sections, lesehan and multimedia. Students can utilise high-quality equipment, including computers, in the multimedia room. 2. Riau University – Pekanbaru
The second largest campus in Indonesia goes to Riau University in Pekanbaru, Riau. Reporting from an article entitled Kampus Terbesar di Indonesia, it is said that the university, which was founded on 1 October 1962, has an area of 700 hectares which makes it the second largest university in Indonesia.
Riau University or commonly called UNRI has 12 faculties in it. The faculty of nursing science, postgraduate programmes, and doctoral programmes. Faculty of medicine, faculty of social and political sciences, faculty of engineering, faculty of law, faculty of agriculture, faculty of economics, faculty of mathematics and natural sciences, faculty of fisheries and marine sciences.

This hospital was also created to focus on strengthening the training centre. As well as a service unit to the community. The next facility UNRI also has a guesthouse as a supporting facility. 3. Andalas University – Padang
The third largest campus in Indonesia is still on the island of Sumatra, namely Andalas University in Padang City. With an area of 502 Hectares, Andalas University is the third largest campus in Indonesia.
Andalas University or commonly called UNAND has 16 faculties. These faculties include post-graduate programmes, faculties of economics, pharmacy, law, humanities, social sciences and political sciences, nursing, public health, agriculture, animal husbandry, engineering, agricultural technology, mipa, and agriculture, as well as faculties of law, humanities, social sciences and political sciences and faculties of cultural sciences.
The facilities at Andalas University are very complete. The convention centre is used for workshops, seminars and other events on campus. The building can accommodate around 2500 students, and the auditorium is also used to organise student events. The student dormitories at UNAND are another facility used by students. 4. University of North Sumatra – Medan

The University of North Sumatra has an area of 416 hectares which is divided into two parts. The first part is located in Padang Bulan and has an area of 116 hectares and the second part is in Kwala with an area of 300 hectares. With a total of 416 hectares, the University of North Sumatra is the fourth largest campus in Indonesia.
The university, commonly called USU, was inaugurated by President Soekarno on 20 November 1957. At the time of its inauguration, USU was the 7th state university in Indonesia, so USU is one of the oldest state universities in Indonesia.
USU has 16 faculties. The faculties are social and political science, computer science and information technology, law, cultural science, economics and business, medicine, dentistry, forestry, nursing, public health, science, agriculture, psychology, engineering, and postgraduate.
Facilities at USU are also diverse, especially medical facilities. Polyclinics, USU Teaching Hospital, and USU Dental and Oral Hospital are some of the medical facilities owned by USU. 5. University of Indonesia – Depok
After the 4 largest campuses in Indonesia on the island of Sumatra, the next largest campus will take us across to the island of Java. The fifth largest campus in Indonesia goes to the University of Indonesia, which is located in Depok, West Java.
The total area of the UI campus reaches 320 hectares. There is a lot of green space on the UI campus. So the urban forest area is used for 75% of this campus area. The campus buildings occupy 25% of the area.
The Universitas Indonesia campus has complete transport access. KRL and Transjakarta train lines pass through it. In addition, UI also has buses that operate around campus and are often referred to as bikuns. This bikun serves as a means of transport for students to move from one faculty to another within the campus area.
Universitas Indonesia has quite a variety of faculties.
